Ashleigh Jacinta Barty (known as Ash Barty) is a professional Australian tennis player and cricketer. She was the second Australian tennis player to be ranked #1 and was a three-time singles grand slam champion. She retired in 2022 but is still a well known icon and role-model around the world today. She was confident, supportive, supportive and always showed good sportsmanship.

Ash Barty was born on the 24th of April 1996. She lived in a suburb in Ipswich Queensland called Springfield. Ash grew up with her parents, Robert and Josie Barty along with her two older sisters, Sara and Ali. Ash started playing tennis at the age of 5 and won her first award a few years later. She started playing competitive games and when she was 14, Ash won her first title at the Australian International. She went to Woodcrest State College and at 18, Ash started playing cricket in Brisbane.

US Open 2018-
At the US open in 2018, Ash won her first grand slam. She played with Coco Vandeweghe, and they bet Timea Babos and Kristina Mleadenovic during the finals
2020 Tokyo Olympics-
Ash won the bronze medal at 2020 Tokyo Olympics for Australia. She played with a John Peers in a mixed double contest. . Unfortunately, they lost to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrey Rublev.
French Open 2019-
During the French Open 2019, Ash won her first singles grand slam after winning the women’s single bracket. She became the first Australian winner of the French Open since 1973 by Margaret Court.
Some challenges that Ash faced was that she felt like she didn't fit in. "Both my sisters went down an academic route" She said she always she felt like she was the odd one out. Ash also opened up about how she faced depression. The expectations everyone placed on her made her feel pressured and even said that sometimes would get emotional when it became too much. Ash also had a left hip injury after the French Open.
Wimbledon 2021-
Another massive grand slam achievement was the Wimbledon event in 2021. The last time
Wimbledon had an Australian winner was back in 1980 when Evonne Goolagong won the tournament.
Australian Open 2022-
Ash Barty’s biggest achievement was winning the Australian Open in 2022. Danielle Collins and Ash versed each other and Ash defeated her. It was impressive that that the 25-year-old did not lose a single set!
Current Life
In 2022 the tennis star announced that she would be retiring from tennis which shocked many people. Ever since retiring, she has been becoming an author and Ash and her husband, Garry Kissick announced that they were having a baby in June or July 2023. Ash and her husband now live in Brookwater, Ipswich Queensland.

Ash collaborated with many people she played with in mixed doubles categories. In the 2020 Olympics she worked with Australian player John Peers and in the 2018 US Open she played with American player Coco Vandeweghe. When it comes to businesses, Ash worked with Rado Brand, a top-notch watch company that provides luxury watches.
